Customer Review: good sander, but has some flaws
I’ve done a fair bit of sanding with this product and overall, the sanding is good: good removal of wood with minimal swirl marks (just don’t short cut through the grits). The flaws are two: the wire support for the dust bag wore through the bag so now while sanding it spews a steam of dust through the hole. Second is the power switch. Every once in a while the thing won’t turn on. I’ve found that if you take the sander apart you can pull the power switch out and then take that apart. Blow the dust out and put it all back together and it works again. Call me crazy, but a sander with a switch that fails because of wood dust seems to be a bit of a design flaw..

I have haven’t had the dewalt a long time, but I bought it for a tile
job that I was doing. I was installing Marble tile in a bathroom and
had to drill over twenty holes in the shower and wall tile. The drill
has a lot of power and performed beautifully. I had only one scare with
it and that was when it just quit working. I thought it overheated, but
I gave the chuck and tap inward and the drill started working again and
has worked ever since. It was a great value and the shipping was on time
and packaged very well. I would and am planning to do it again with other
dewalt tools.

Bosch 32614-2G 14.4-Volt Ni-Cad 3/8-Inch Cordless Drill/Driver Kit The 32614-2G is an upgrade of Bosch’s classic model 32614. For the most part, this is the same as its predecessor, which in this case is a good thing. It’s easy to see why this drill was chosen as a 2006 “Best Buy” by a leading consumer magazine. The primary difference is the addition of Bosch’s Bluecore battery technology, which offers 50% longer battery life and a 30-minute charge time.

As a class, Bosch Compact Tough drills are designed to offer extreme durability in a small package. The 32614-2G delivers tons of power in a compact size that makes it easier to maneuver in tight spaces than many other drills in its class. At a relatively slim 4.2 pounds and with an ergonomic, soft-grip handle, this is a very comfortable drill to use. The Bosch-built unibody power train that contains the motor, gearbox, and clutch in one contiguous unit for durability and the best alignment possible. That and the Durashield housing, made from a flexible ABS nylon blend, makes the tool extremely resistant to damage, including multiple 1-story drops in Bosch’s tests. A steel-reinforced collar protects the tool even when it is dropped on the chuck.

Other features include a 15-position clutch to prevent stripped screwheads and buried screws; a ratcheting, single-sleeve 3/8-inch chuck for one handed bit changes; and a 2-speed gear box to provide optimal performance for both high-torque and high-speed applications. Customer Review: A great tool
I absolutely love this tool. I use it all the time and I can’t say enough good about it. Its powerful, the batteries last forever (All day of continuous use). The balance is great, and the motor has huge torque (it was actually pulled from my grip once). The only complaint is that the bit holder can’t actually hold any normal bits because of its weird design (it can only hold little bitty ones). But since I only use Phillips and square drive screws and I have a dual bit, its not a big deal for me.

I am so impressed that I am going to replace my new Maytag dishwasher(one of the worst I have ever had - I’ll never trust Consumer Reports again)with a Bosch (even though Consumer Reports gave it a good review).

Every Bosch tool I have has exceeded my expectations to the point now that if I need a tool, and Bosch makes it, I will buy it from Bosch.

I’ve owned this drill for 2 years, and have used it for a variety of household projects (I’ve built my basement, washroom and outdoor fencing with this thing). Other reviews will point out the power and durability of this unit..which is fantastic for it’s size..but more importantly, and often not addressed, is the grip mold & hand fatigue. This is where it excels. From the many drills I’ve used throughout the years this is by far the best I’ve encountered in this case. Sweaty palms will not be such an issue during a hard days work. The grip itself perfectly fits into my medium-sized hands. It’s really a joy to work with. The warranty is also something to think about (not that I’ve even needed it), but kudos to Bosch for backing up their product.

I’m sure you’ll enjoy it for many years.

The buffer really worked great when I finally got to use it. It did not come as advertized with the hook and loop backing pad. After contacting Makita and getting no where, Amazon agreed to send me another buffer. Unfortunately for me, it too came packaged incorrectly. So, after some discussion Amazon agreed to credit my account the amount of money necessary to buy the backing pad.

Customer Review: Not Bad for the money!
Yes, I read a lot of reviews on this saw and the cheaper one and glad I went with this one. Although not the high speed of larger ones, I have used mine on drywall, wood, molding and backer board and all with the stock blade so I can’t complain. I really didn’t think it would do that well because you know you can’t afford to buy cheap tools and for $178 it was well worth it. Not many Mfg’s make this size saw and it’ s nice to have. Wish DeWalt would make one..

This is a very cool little saw, handy and well designed for thin stock, and no one but Makita makes anything like it. Only wish it took the same 18V lithium batteries as my other Makita tools - they make way too many battery types.
