Customer Review: good sander, but has some flaws
I’ve done a fair bit of sanding with this product and overall, the sanding is good: good removal of wood with minimal swirl marks (just don’t short cut through the grits). The flaws are two: the wire support for the dust bag wore through the bag so now while sanding it spews a steam of dust through the hole. Second is the power switch. Every once in a while the thing won’t turn on. I’ve found that if you take the sander apart you can pull the power switch out and then take that apart. Blow the dust out and put it all back together and it works again. Call me crazy, but a sander with a switch that fails because of wood dust seems to be a bit of a design flaw..
Customer Review: Polisher use
We use this DeWalt Random Orbital as a polisher for vehicles. The unit comes with the velcro fastener required for professional polishing pads. The unit is balanced and easy to use for a long period. The results have been outstanding. It is recommended by our supplier of professional polishing products.

DEWALT DW433K Heavy Duty 8 Amp 3-Inch by 21-Inch Variable Speed Belt Sander Kit with Dust Canister and Case Customer Review: Pleased
Reading all the negative reviews and I originally decided purchasing the sander would be more trouble than it was worth. I looked at quite a few others but in the end, they each had something I couldn’t live with. I decided to take the risk and hoped I wouldn’t regret it.

DEWALT DW421 2 Amp 5-Inch Orbital Sander with Dust Canister No swirls, no gouges, no stress: What a terrific little sander this is! It handles much more smoothly than other orbitals we’ve test-driven, perhaps because of what DeWalt calls its controlled finishing system that maintains pad speed and minimizes gouging at the start. It’s perfectly balanced, lightweight and comfortable to use, and though the cap is hard plastic rather than rubber, vibration isn’t a problem. It uses readily available 5-inch, eight-hole hook and loop paper that goes on and off in a second. If we had to identify a flaw, we’d say the dust bag doesn’t capture every last speck—-but then again, have you seen an orbital that does? It’s the nature of the beast. Still, when we attached a shop vacuum to the dust chute, we got great, clean results. The woodworker, home do-it-yourselfer and the contractor would all be pleased with this little guy.–Kris Jensen-Van Heste
Customer Review: All & More
This is an excellent sander. Versatile. I had got one from a former employee a few years ago. I had no idea these were so effective. It does all I need and more. Be hard pressed to find a better sander for the buck. Especially here. Pleased does not cover it.
Customer Review: Nice device
This is a little sander for delicate work. Price is comparable to other sanders. Working on an antique? You’ll love it.
