Customer Review: Worth every penny I dont usually write a review but I feel compelled every now and then when a product is garbage or outstanding. I have this set for about 3 months and just started using the second 1/4″ bit. Now that may seem like a short amount of time but I am a Audio/Video Tech in NYC. Which means a bunch of anchors in concrete or bricks. On the same 1/4″ bit Ive hammered through tile in a spa and mounted a sat dish on a roof, and even though the end of the bit is near gone it still eats through cement. In all if you need a simple hammer bit set for your cordless you cant go wrong with this one Customer Review: Awesome. Too bad Home Depot doesn’t sell DeWalt bits anymore. What a stupid mistake. I’m sick of wasting my time with those junk Vermont American and other cheap bits that the local hardware stores sell. Maybe they get higher margins. I now buy online. I got this set from DeWalt. In comparison, the last VA set I got at Home Depot, the 3/8 bit completely broke apart drilling one measley hole into stucco! I have another old bit that has drilled 100s of holes into the same stucco with no significant wear. They don’t make them like they used to with the exception of the DeWalt ones here. I’ve used these bits in concrete and they work GREAT. They have some weird-angled point that really works. Costs 2X, but these are well worth it. Comes with a, not great, but usable pouch.

Bosch 11224VSRKR 7/8-inch SDS Rotary Hammer The first thing you’ll notice about Bosch’s rotary hammer is its great ergonomics, which clearly were a major consideration in the design of the hammer. The grip and trigger mechanism are well integrated, especially the front grip, and long enough to accommodate different body styles (I’ve got long arms; my buddy is the opposite: we both liked the tool’s feel). For a rotary hammer, design is especially critical during overhead and down-drilling operations, where fatigue can quickly rear its ugly head. The tool’s vario-lock positioning is great; it gives you 36 different working angles to choose from so you can modify the tool to fit the application. Likewise, the hammer offers three operational modes: hammer only, rotation only, and hammer with rotation. Are there drawbacks? Not many. The bit-changing mechanism is a little stiff and a little cumbersome, perhaps–but that’s a pretty minor negative in a tool that otherwise provides such pleasant operation. The people at Bosch really know what they’re doing, and it shows in this tool. –Michael Shilling Customer Review: Stucco and more Bought this at the local Big Orange Retail Giant, cuz I needed it tonight. It chews up 35 yr old stucco very nicely, and much faster than a bricklayers hammer. Putting in new windows and eventually going to cut a weep screed opening across a 75 ft expanse so I wanted a tool that was fast enough and yet not too heavy for use on a ladder. Customer Review: Worked great until it failed I bought this tool to remove tile in my shower. For a couple hours, it worked fantastic on the hammer function. But then it just stopped hammering. The chisel would vibrate mildly, but not enough to do any good. After moving it around at different angles and letting it run, it would occasionally start hammering again, but not for long, and it’s back in the mild vibration mode. It’s totally useless for the hammer function now (which was what I bought it for), and I’ve gotten only about two hours worth of use out of it. I’ll return it tomorrow, and I’ll probably upgrade to the next model up in hopes that it lasts a bit longer.
